Eligibility

Brighter Horizon is committed to helping first-generation students who are driven and determined to achieve a college degree and pursue their future career goals.

In addition to a referral by a counselor, organization, or individual, criteria for eligible applicants will include:

• A high school diploma
• A minimum GPA of 3.0
• An essay on what a college education means for their future
• A demonstration of financial need
• No immediate family members who have attained a four-year degree (mother, father, siblings, grandparents)

Annual renewal of a scholarship requires the student to be in good standing at the university, while maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.7.
