Meet Yvette Dapremont Bright

Yvette is passionate about working with young students to help them reach their academic potential. As an inspirational leader, Yvette recently retired from her role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia, where she was the first woman and person of color to have responsibility for the Commercial and Medicare P&Ls, with revenues exceeding $6 billion; all while also overseeing customer service, processing services, operations shared services, business process reengineering and business technology services.  Yvette now serves on the board of Independence Blue Cross.

Throughout her entire career, Yvette has mentored students and young professionals, providing invaluable guidance to develop their skills and unwavering support to facilitate success in their academic or professional careers.

Yvette earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Tulane University School of Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from St. Joseph’s University. She currently serves on several Boards of Directors, including Independence Blue Cross, National Life Group, AmeriHealth Caritas, and the Advisory Board of Clarify Health. Now, as President of Brighter Horizon Foundation, she is the force behind our mission to assist first generation students reach the goal of attaining a college degree.
