Mentors are critical to helping students navigate the college journey within the Brighter Horizon program. Each student will have two mentors who are either still in college or have recently completed their college degree and are pursuing their professional careers.
For first-generation students, it’s an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to attend college, but along with this invaluable opportunity will be challenges to overcome. It’s critical that students know they are supported by their families, communities and schools as they work to meet all the financial obligations of attending college, while also maintaining their studies and assimilating into social networks.
